There is nothing wrong with entrusting these financial wizards with your retirement, life savings, toenail clippings, etc. You can always be sure that you broker is doin everything he or she can to make sure that your money, retirement fund, earwax, etc. is being invested wisely with every action on their part focused on not giving a shit about your retirement or any other silly-ass concern you have. Their motto is "so what if I fuck-up your life financially and you spend your retirement years living in an appliance carton under the 40/270 overpass and eating out of dumpsters for dinner, don't bitch at me, you ain't the only muthafucka who's life I've fucked-up. So fire me, I'll just collect my million dollar bonus for fucking-up everybody's money in the securities market and retire to my McMansion in South Beach, Florida".
So here's a financial tip for Old Black Guy Steve:
First take all of your money out of the Bank.(they don't need it, they've got us taxpayers to support them!)
Second, take all the cash you've got stuffed under your mattress. You know what I'm talking about, the money you've been making selling your Viagra pills to all the limp-dick drunks at the corner bar you frequent.
Third, while your wife isn't looking (like when she watchesThe Young and the Restless(useless). Aren't you running a little late for your next Tea Party circle-jerk? Yet you find time to bash the President and his Homeland Security head honcho because of the "underwear bomber". In the sleepy little hamlet of East St. Louis, native St. Louisan Franchesta Brown was charged with armed robbery. According to the Evening Whirl (all the news that's fit to print!) Ms. Brown attempted to rob a woman of money and cigarettes (cigarettes?) at a Metro East Metrolink station.
Unfortunately for Ms. Brown, the victim decided "fuck this stupid bitch, I work too hard for my money and cigarettes, this bitch needs to get a job!" and proceeded to dump the entire contents of her hot cup of java and the amateur robber. The victim made the dash afterwards and flagged down some St. Clair County cops, who arrested the erstwhile Ms. Brown. While wearing the chrome wrist jewelry, Ms. Brown had the nerve to complain that she was "injured". Cops called paramedics, but when they arrived, Ms. Brown put up such a struggle and fuss with them, the paramedics said, "fuck it, the only thing wrong with this bitch is she's a JACKASS"! The paramedics left to assist citizens who really need assistance.
So the moral of this story is, if you're gonna rob somebody with a cup of hot java, wear the appropriate protective gear (face shield, heat-resistant clothing).

BOY, IT'S GETTING KINDA ANGRY OUT THERE!
Finally, health care reform has been passed. Watered-down as it was, it seems to brought out the worst of a certain segment of our society. The Tea Party movement came out in force after passage and signing of the bill. Unfortunately, they came out behaving like pouting, angry children. I'm sure this will play out as a great recruiting tool for the party of "no" (republicans) and the party of "we're white, pissed-off and what ya gonna do about it!"
Now don't get this old black guy wrong, it so happens I agree with many of the Tea Party complaints. What I tend to question is the timing. As I've asked before, where were these people for the past nine years when Bush basically mortgaged the country to China to pay for a war he lied to all of us to get into. And another war based on some frivolous pipe dream of wiping out an ideology (never been done, never will be done) The two wars combined have set the USA back close to 3 trillion dollars.
The hot minute a black man is elected President and runs up a trillion dollar deficit to fix some of the problems Bush deemed not important (as long as the military-industrial complex and the oil companies were happily pulling in the no-bid contract bucks). Somebody comes along to try to help the average main-street Joe and Joan and the average main street Joe and Joan get pissed-off and morph into neanderthals.
Fear is a powerful force. The republicans have been using fear to control the non-thinking masses for decades. The used fear to try to stop the Civil Rights Act (would you want your daughter sitting next to niggers at the Woolworth counter?) Social Security and Medicare are going to bankrupt the country, even though they turned out to be successful life-lines for millions of older Americans. They have to take away some of our rights because the Islamic Terrorists are going to get us if we don't! (even though the Mexico border is still wide open and any terrorist simply need to hop across the "fence" and enter the country. As long as poor Mexicans can sneak in and work for slave wages for greedy businesses, it's okay.)
Now it's fear that Obama and the Democrats are taking our rights and our country away from us. Too late for that, Bush already handed our economy over to China years ago because God told him to invade and occupy Iraq. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, what the hell are 3 draft dodgers doing starting wars, anyway!!
Anyway, I've figured out how to make the Tea Party people happy and bring peace once again to the political process. Give them white folks some jobs! White folks cannot handle hard times. They can't deal with unemployment and being broke. Their self-esteem plummets and they think everybody is getting a better break than they are. Whites have always been about money, money, money. Their self-esteem is tied to how much money they have. That's why they mortgaged themselves to the eyeballs, using their homes as atm machines, just to show everybody how much money they got by using credit to buy shit they didn't need (swipe that plastic, baby! I'm living large like Trump!)
And when the inevitable pink slip arrives because the banks played roullette with opm (other people's money) they get panicked, stressed, hateful, bigoted...basically a bunch of spoiled brats on steroids. When you pick Sarah Palin as one of your spokespeople, that shows true desperation. That moron couldn't even find Iraq on a map (too busy watching Russia from her backyard, I suppose).
I know this sounds strange from an old black guy, but I'm enjoying every minute of this stuff. I do derive a certain sick pleasure watching whites spazz-out over shit black folks have been dealing with all along. Simply, black folks are used to hard times. No matter how good the economy, we always had hard times. You don't see us spitting on congressmen and insulting disabled people about it. And the coffin thing, what was that all about. That Hennessy guy really needs a real job (obviously too much time on his hands)
But, mark my words, as this movement grows, unchecked by so-called leadership, they're going to spit on the wrong congressman, hassle the wrong disabled person, and the silent, optimistic and hopeful majority is going to start fighting back. Childish behavior gets old after a while. I think it's time for black folks to start thinking about the possibility of having to go toe-to-toe with these assholes. Simply put, we'd win. Black folks have 4 centuries of anger under their belts. That trumps a couple of years of silly anger, any day. Black anger is real and not a genie you'd want to let out of the bottle.
Lastly, why is Ed Martin's column in the Evening Whirl, of all places? This guy is a Tea Party shill. He had the audacity to site the misbehaving Tea Partiers as "scum". Well, guess what, Ed. They're your "scum" and what does that make you? When blacks rose up and protested, we were peaceful, but then, we had a REAL leader. The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. would never have tolerated such crude and pathetic behavior. So here's a little advice for Ed and his cronies from the good Dr. King himself...
Before a protest can be approved by a responsible leadership, they must answer the following questions.
1. Do we have a just grievance, or is our purpose merely to create confusion for it's own sake, as a form of revenge?
2. Have we first used every form of normal means to eliminate the problem through negotiation, petition and appropriate appeal to authorities?
3. Having found these channels useless or forcibly closed to us, when we embark upon any kind of lawbreaking, are we prepared to accept the consequences that society will inflict, and maintain, even under punishment, a sense of DIGNITY?
4. Do we have a CLEAR program to relieve injustice, that does not INFLICT INJUSTICE ON OTHERS, and is that program reasonable and grounded in ETHICS and the BEST TRADITIONS OF SOCIETY?

LOOKS LIKE THIS PARTY'S GOTTEN OUT OF HAND...
Well, you knew it had to happen. It was just a matter of time before the Tea Party movement of St. Louis finally showed their true colors. Namely scarlet-red and bile-green. They claim they want to reclaim their country (from that uppity Negro in the White House). As I've asked previously, where was all this patriotic anger while George W. Bush was lying to us all the way into 2 useless wars, racking up 2 trillion in debt to pay for them (the USA's largest "black ops" windfall for the military industrial complex. ask Halliburton!) Where were they when Wall Street basically bought the White House, lock stock(pun) and barrel so they could run roughshod over the SEC and invent those fine financial instruments that nearly wrecked the global economy?
I guess they were all too busy enjoying the fruits of their hate and divisiveness. Their rallies have turned into hate-fests for the caucasian intellectually challenged. It's nothing but that "ole white anger" coming to the surface for all to see. Rush Limbaugh would be proud of these Gateway City hate mobs. Come on, fools, burning pictures of Russ Carnahan, shouting racial slurs at black representatives. That's a real nice way to get your point across. Encouraging your kids to throw shoes at democratically elected representatives? And Dana Loesch and Bill Hennessy claiming they no longer had any moral or legal obligations to the USofA they claim to be trying to reclaim. I give these losers about another year before Limbaugh and Hannity decide they're too Toxic even for their money-grubbing asses and drop the cause like a hot potato. Then they'll have to sink lower and align themselves with the Aryan Nation or some other fucked-up band of losers.
Remember, I warned you about something so obvious about these clowns that even Stevie Wonder could have spotted them for what they are in a dark room with his eyes closed.

I'm sick of Healthcare!
This thing has gone on long enough. The Democrats could pushed this through a year ago (with a public option)! This has turned into the USA at it's worst. What person of any humanity would deny basic healthcare to anybody. That's warped and wacked! Republicans in the pockets of the insurance health insurance companies, Democrats in the pockets of the Lawyers. Nobody giving a fuck about the average Joe or Joline out here trying to survive and do the right thing. We can blow billions on stupid wars, but we can't provide health care to all of our citizens.
Instead of doctors making medical decisions, we have insurance executives making medical decisions. Sumthing wrong with that picture. Doctors can spend only ten or fifteen minutes with each patient. Doctors have to check with insurance providers before making medical decisions. Doctors have to hire extra people just to process the insurance paperwork! No wonder Doctors said "to hell with it all" and started letting Nurses and P/A's do all the work. No wonder Doctors have so many substance abuse problems!
Then Doctors have to order every expensive hi-tech test performed on the patient for fear of being sued by Brown and Crouppen (we'll make THEM pay!).
Doctor: Okay, nurse, I want a complete workup on this man. Blood work, bone density test, prostate exam, x-rays, stress test...
Nurse: He's the Janitor here to empty the trash cans.
Doctor: In that case, I want an MRI, too.

What in the hell is going on with the Black family? What makes me ask this question is an incident from Feb 20, 2010 as posted in the Evening Whirl (all the news that's fit to print). Single mom Patrice Johnson, gainfully employed as a stripper at the Soft Touch club in E. St. Louis, apparently lost track of her baby girl at a Caseyville motel. Keep in mind, I am not making light of this tragedy. I think it's truly pathetic, yet so emblematic of what has happened in the Black community. As an Old Black Guy I hold a soft spot in my heart for children.
It seems Patrice went to work and left the 3 year old girl in the care of her babydaddy in a Days Inn. To make a long story short, babydaddy (a heroin addict strapped with a pistol) lost track of the toddler and she was found wandering the halls by motel staff. Cops are called and arrive. At 2am Patrice and her sister arrive and inform the cops babydaddy was supposed to be babysitting. Dumb girl takes $2,000.00 out of a strongbox in front of the cops (they might rob you, dummy. it happens in STL all the time) cops then notice cocaine and other dope paraphernalia around the room. Dumb girl says she and her sister are scheduled to have sex with babydaddy in a different room (because he's got a gun).
The baby's guardian is the babydaddy sister, who finally picked-up the kid. Here we go, ya'll. Why ain't the kid at home in bed at 2am. What jackass gave this junkie bitch the kid in the first place that day. In other words, where was the family at? Has dope and money destroyed the Black family that much. As an Old Black Guy, I am saddened daily whenever I watch the news. (Fox2 at 5am. Also known in the hood as "the Nigga News). It's as if Black families have really lost sight of what's important. The Black family has picked up the worst traits of their so-called enemy, The White Man. The White Man don't need to be our enemy, we're our own worst enemy.

Too Big to Fail
First, let me state that I think Obama really screwed up with the bailout thing. He should've given every american adult a check for $10,000.00 bucks. That would've kicked started the economy like a giant dose of viagra. Instead, he gave the billions to his benefactors... THE BANKS. The very assholes who got us into this mess. There is no such thing as Too Big to Fail. And what did THE BANKS do? What else, they gave million dollar bonuses to the assholes who fucked everything up in the first place. Something about retaining good talent. Good talent is a five dollar crack ho who sucks dick like Vanessa Del Rio. That's talent worth retaining! Though I must admit, some of that "good talent" on wall street must have excellent oral skills (job requirement).
CEO: Morning Bob. I just wanted to thank you for fucking this company up royally by giving you a little token of the bank's appreciation.
Bob: Wow, a bonus check for a million dollars! Gee, thanks, boss!
CEO: We appreciate how hard you worked to run this company into the ground, throwing thousands of loyal employees out of work, and causing millions of families to be tossed out of their homes into the streets. That's real talent!

Tea Party Fun
Dana L., I luv ya. I loved your "mamalogues" in the Post Dispatch and I love your Tea Party gang. Where else can you find a bunch of pissed-off white folks getting together waving Obama effigies and shouting sick anti-Obama (racial) slogans for the Fox News Network cameras? I love pure theater, people, and this is as pure as it gets! Not to mention they've now got intellectual queen of snarkiness, Ms. Palin rooting for them. Nothing warms my heart than pissed-off white folks. They should be pissed-off. They slept for 8 years while Dubya ran the ole USofA into the crapper, then the minute a black man becomes President, he's the biggest threat to mankind since the Toyota Camry on steroids! But they ain't racists! Hell no, of course not, it's just a coincidence. Bad timing, that's all. They got nothing against black people, especially the two or three you see at the rallies out of thousands of white faces. (can you say paid tokens). Or i guess blacks just haven't caught on, yet, that our freedoms are being ripped away from us. That the USA is becoming socialist under Obama. I guess nobody told them, we black folks are used to having our freedoms taken away (try driving through St. Charles County after midnight while black). Talk about a gauntlet! But, hey. Tea party people make some good arguments, and I respect many of their platforms. Just don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. I'm an Old Black Guy. I remember when whites called you a nigger to your face and dared you to do anything about it. Now it's "code words". And frankly, I had more respect for the old way. At least they were HONEST.

I guess that makes the Mayor of East St. Louis a seriously disappointed muthafucka. East St. Louis is good for only three things, dope, pussy, and murder. As for Alvin Parks, this guy is such a rube, he's doesn't even know when the other shoe is about to drop. The fed seized all the files from his office, his liquor commissioner is heading to jail for soliciting bribes from bars and liquor stores. His police department can't take a crap right without assistance from the state police, who are probably the only ones not under investigation or indictment. But, things being as they are, he'll probably run for re-election and win. I guess misery is okay, once you get used to it.

Life in the STL
Hi. My name is Steve Finney. I am 53 years old. By the way, I am Black. Not african-american, whatever the fuck that means. I wasn't born in Africa, though I've been there a few times (lovely place. take mosquito repellant). I was born and raised in St. Louis, but I have travelled extensively due to service in the Navy.
This blog is for people to speak-up about the Lou. The good, the bad, the ugly, the pretty. I've been told I am opinionated. I just like to think. We all need to like to think. Thinking is the one thing that seperates us from the lower forms of life (no, not politicians!) More on those guys and gals later.
I try to have a good sense of humor, and I also have a thick skin, so to speak. I AM NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT! And you shouldn't be, either. It's no fun. It has come to my attention that it's time for the fine citizens of the Lou to wake up and smell the latte. We're getting screwed at at every turn and the powers that be keep us focused on hurting each other instead of claiming the power and control over our city that we deserve.
So, it don't matter what race, creed, color, religion, sexual orientation, whateva you are, wake up and smell the latte. Most importantly, start thinking. It's good for you. I promise.
